The signatories share a common trait: they have a significant influence on biodiversity and strong capacity to take meaningful action within their respective sectors. By joining the Commitment, they also aim to create the conditions and inspiration for more organisations to prioritize and implement measures that support biodiversity and ecosystem services. The initiative is now welcoming additional partners to join and sign the declaration of intent.

Academia contributes to the collaboration by coordinating the Commitment and providing a scientific advisory board to review and strengthen the work. Coordination is managed through the SamBio project, funded by the Region Västra Götaland and run by the Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre (GGBC), hosted by the University of Gothenburg.
Business Region Göteborg (BRG) also supports the initiative by sharing its experience from similar partnership models in other fields.
